The book was pretty good and gives you a whole different perspective on leapardstar (which I guess is supposed to be the point of these super editions)。 I'm not going to say who dies, but all the deaths are very well-done, emotional, and heartbreaking (a very common thing to expect with great storytellers like Erin Hunter Team)。 But, like most warriors' books, half the book is taken up by meaningless scenes。 there are about three chapters dedicated to young leapardkit learning how to swim。 It ju The book was pretty good and gives you a whole different perspective on leapardstar (which I guess is supposed to be the point of these super editions)。 I'm not going to say who dies, but all the deaths are very well-done, emotional, and heartbreaking (a very common thing to expect with great storytellers like Erin Hunter Team)。 But, like most warriors' books, half the book is taken up by meaningless scenes。 there are about three chapters dedicated to young leapardkit learning how to swim。 It just makes the story way longer than it needs to be。Some of the decisions made by leapardstar were extremely irrational, she really should have noticed the red flags when she (SPOILERS) joined tigerstar or when he threatens her deputy and her other warriors with death。 And when she finds out that scourge is the real bad guy, suddenly nothing matters in life, and she and all her friends will die。 She doesn't even think about fighting back until her dad screams it in her face。 All that aside, I still think this was a compelling, emotional book with likable characters, even if it was unnecessarily longer than it should be。 。。。more

Is there Scourge? Yes!you know a book isn't the best when it takes 400 pages to get interesting。 I know it's a retelling of the first arc through her POV but man is she just the most obnoxiously cocky-insecure cat。 Leopardstar is so awful, I spent over two months just trying to get through it。 Also I have the first edition, so I'm not sure if it's fixed, but the grammatical errors are hilarious。 My favourite is "anther" instead of "another"。anyways。。。skip it。 She's an awful cat, that's all there Is there Scourge? Eh, the book is awful。 First, we got Leopardstar, which blames ThunderClan for all her problems and refuses to reflect upon herself。 Then, we got RiverClan, diminished to a Clan that blindly follows its leader despite all the idiotic things Leopardstar does。 Then, we have this crap claim from the author that says Leopardstar's life isn't about a mate even though it takes up like a quarter of the book? Not that I minded the romance but don't make claims you can't support。 Also, the thing with Tig Eh, the book is awful。 First, we got Leopardstar, which blames ThunderClan for all her problems and refuses to reflect upon herself。 Then, we got RiverClan, diminished to a Clan that blindly follows its leader despite all the idiotic things Leopardstar does。 Then, we have this crap claim from the author that says Leopardstar's life isn't about a mate even though it takes up like a quarter of the book? fantastic book and i LOVED to learn more about leopardstar and what was going on in her head with some of the decisions she made。 my heart also aches for the losses she’s had and what she had to give up for her clan。 however, SO many typos in the book and contradictory parts made the book hard to follow at some points。

I’m not the biggest fan of Leopardstar, so that may have influenced my feelings toward the book, but I was still willing to read it because I found it one day in Barnes and Noble and thought, “Why not?”I was disappointed。 The editing mistakes were not few and easily noticed。 My biggest issue, however, was the confusing time jumps。 There was little to no indication of skipping ahead in time until I saw a new character and went ‘Wait, what?’ That really bothered me to no end and I was glad to get I’m not the biggest fan of Leopardstar, so that may have influenced my feelings toward the book, but I was still willing to read it because I found it one day in Barnes and Noble and thought, “Why not?”I was disappointed。 The editing mistakes were not few and easily noticed。 My biggest issue, however, was the confusing time jumps。 There was little to no indication of skipping ahead in time until I saw a new character and went ‘Wait, what?’ That really bothered me to no end and I was glad to get this over with。 Maybe if it slowed down a little and the time jumps were more smooth and obvious to the reader so it doesn’t get confusing, maybe my enjoyment would’ve been higher。 。。。more

This was just bad and lazy writing。 The allegiances are messed up。 Whitestorm is a warrior but his father, Thistleclaw(and his sisters) are apprentices。 The pacing was weird like suddenly a queen had given birth and the kits wouldn't be mentioned for a while。 Tigerstar asks who Featherkit and Stormkit's mentors will be even though they received mentors a chapter or so before。 In the Manga, Reedpaw is still an apprentice while Hawkfrost and Mothwing are warriors。 Leopardstar's character was awful This was just bad and lazy writing。 The allegiances are messed up。 Whitestorm is a warrior but his father, Thistleclaw(and his sisters) are apprentices。 The pacing was weird like suddenly a queen had given birth and the kits wouldn't be mentioned for a while。 Tigerstar asks who Featherkit and Stormkit's mentors will be even though they received mentors a chapter or so before。 In the Manga, Reedpaw is still an apprentice while Hawkfrost and Mothwing are warriors。 Leopardstar's character was awful and the writing made it worse。 I've never liked her but I wanted to give this book a chance to explain why she so willingly followed Tigerstar and I'm just disappointed。 Leopardstar was spoiled as a kit but it does not explain her ego and lack of self-control。 Plenty of cats have told her throughout her life that her eagerness to fight is bad but she refuses to listen until the cats close to her die even then she twists the truth to blame others。 Whitefang, Sunfish, or Whiteclaw didn't have to die。 She chose to fight Redtail when she could have walked away。 She taught Whiteclaw the same thing(fight first, ask questions later)。 This book didn't make me like her and it's not Leopardstar's fault。 The writing is lazy and rushed。 How are we supposed to care about this character when the writers didn't care enough to write her well。 I love Warriors but this book was just bad and embarrassing。 。。。more

I was excited to be able to see Leopardstar's previously unseen perspective, especially during Tigerstar's reign, but the story just felt cheap and rushed。 I always thought Leopardstar kind of sucked, and this book didn't change my mind about that。 (And like yeah, I get that she also realizes that she kind of sucks and feels bad and changes in the end blah blah blah。。。 But I didn't CARE, and that was the problem。) It's disappointing because that's basically the point of these Super Editions。 It made me especially sad having recently re-read "Crookedstar's Promise," which takes place in RiverClan at a similar time and is probably one of the best books in the entire franchise。 I don't know who's writing the new books (I finished the "Omen of the Stars" series and read the first couple in "Dawn of the Clans," stopping around 2012-13), but they don't seem to have the same care for the Warriors world and characters as the original writers did。 I'm still glad that I read it and did enjoy the first half alright, but overall, disappointed :( 。。。more

This is the worst money grab in the whole Warriors franchise。 Unless you're a completionist, there is absolutely no reason to pick this up。 It's a cheat to the fans who waste their time and/or money on it。Lepardstar doesn't really get her own story。 Sure, it's her POV, but since this takes place concurrently with the original arc, she's being tossed from one plot beat to the next with no agency of her own。 She's wherever the original arc needs her to be。 It even skips sizable chunks of time for This is the worst money grab in the whole Warriors franchise。 Unless you're a completionist, there is absolutely no reason to pick this up。 It's a cheat to the fans who waste their time and/or money on it。Lepardstar doesn't really get her own story。 Sure, it's her POV, but since this takes place concurrently with the original arc, she's being tossed from one plot beat to the next with no agency of her own。 She's wherever the original arc needs her to be。 It even skips sizable chunks of time for no reason, except that anyone who's read the OG arc already knows what happened, which should say something。 The longer this book goes on, the more time it passes over and the more it requires you to have a knowledge of the OG series, while adding nothing unique to the narrative。Other Super Editions show the characters on quests far from home, so they can write whatever and it doesn't interfere with the main timeline of the six book arcs; or it bridges gaps between arcs, because there's usually a few moons between arcs。 Sometimes Super Editions do both。 Trying to keep Leopardstar in the forest and tell a unique story, concurrent with an already fleshed out series, was going to be difficult from the start and it wasn't handled well。 Leopardstar doesn't disappear during the original series, so there wasn't much room to tell us anything we didn't know, unless the writer got creative。 Unfortunately, the effort didn't go well。I think there was a halfhearted attempt to show Leopardstar as someone lacking confidence and reveal how she fell for Tigerstar's lies。 She had a strained relationship with her father as she got older, but she wanted his approval, and that's what made her susceptible to Tigerstar's manipulation tactics。 That would have been great, if Erin Hunter had committed to that angle, because it's realistic and would make Leopardstar more sympathetic; but EH never really fleshed it out。 She was just always mad at her father without ever getting to the root of why, wanting his approval that she had as a kit。Leopardstar doesn't even have an interesting upbringing。 She gets bullied and abused for, like, 3 chapters and I kept thinking it would come up later as someone she has to challenge for responsibility or prove her skills to, or something。 But she just gets over it and never holds it against her bully and they get along just fine without an apology or confrontation。Leopardstar's Honor tried to cover too much material (roughly 1,800 pages from the original arc) and ended up revealing very little about Leopardstar。 If you're thinking this might be a good replacement for the original arc because of the events it includes, it isn't。 It skips events at the end, when you get the feeling it's been going on too long for one book (which it does) and the writer just wants to end it already。 You could literally just imagine what happened in Riverclan when Firestar wasn't around, for all this added to the OG series (which is absolutely nothing)。I've ranted online and offline about the decline of the Warriors franchise in recent arcs, and handed out plenty of one and two star ratings, but this book makes me actively angry in just how pointless it was。 Just a total ripoff。 Skip it。 。。。more

I have a very different opinion of Leopardstar after reading this。 Although she succeeded in saving RiverClan in the end, I truly didn't realize that her bad decisions were what ultimately destroyed her Clan in the first place。 I loved in the little comic at the end when she says that maybe she wasn't meant to save RiverClan with her own two paws, but she was meant to bring about the cat who would, meaning Mistyfoot/star。 And I couldn't agree more, I think Mistystar is probably the best leader R I have a very different opinion of Leopardstar after reading this。 Although she succeeded in saving RiverClan in the end, I truly didn't realize that her bad decisions were what ultimately destroyed her Clan in the first place。 I loved in the little comic at the end when she says that maybe she wasn't meant to save RiverClan with her own two paws, but she was meant to bring about the cat who would, meaning Mistyfoot/star。 And I couldn't agree more, I think Mistystar is probably the best leader RiverClan has ever had。 。。。more

I can never complain about that, because it just means more Warriors to read。 Plus, the book is super fast-paced - in only a few chapters Leopardfur was a warrior, then deputy shortly after! I liked how much content the book managed to cover, and it didn't even span to the end of Leoparstar's life like a lot of the other prequels do。 (I guess that just goes to show how embroiled RiverClan was with all the chaos that went down in The Prophecies Begin!) Plus, the addition of context for why Whiteclaw's death in the first series upset her so much was nice。Okay, there were a few things I picked up on that I wasn't as big of a fan of。 While I did like the book's fast pace (it was a nice change after Greystripe's Vow's slower style), I think the relationships between Leopardstar and her nursery friends would have had a bit more focus and more meaning towards the latter end of the book - it felt like they dropped off from the story as the plot became the main focus for the second half of the book。 My biggest criticism is a glaring error around the apprenticeship of Featherpaw and Stormpaw, where the entire ceremony seems to have been put in the wrong spot of the book。 The wiki summarises it quite well:'The entire paragraph about Featherpaw's and Stormpaw's apprentice ceremony contains several aspects that don't happen until later in the plot:- Jaggedtooth and Boulder are present during the ceremony despite only being stationed in RiverClan after it joined with ShadowClan to form TigerClan。- Feaherpaw and Stormpaw are apprenticed too early in the plot as later the book mentions how Skyheart keeps Mosspelt company in the nursery now that Mistyfoot's kits are apprentices。 This implies that by this point, Mosspelt is still in the nursery with Featherkit and Stormkit。 - Additionally, Tigerstar later also asks Leopardstar if she's still planning to make Mistyfoot and Stonefur mentors to Featherkit and Stormkit, even though their ceremony has already been held'I know the Warriors series is riddled with mistakes (many of them very entertaining), but this one really ruined my immersion because it didn't go by unnoticed like most of them。 It genuinely seems like they put a chapter in the wrong place。 How did nobody pick up on this? It's not like one of those mistakes where the Erins forgot to check what happened in the older books they wrote - no, this whole scene directly contradicts stuff that happens in the next few chapters。 What the heck。So。。。 it's quite hard to rate this one。 I really enjoyed the first half of this book, but I found it a bit lacklustre beyond that point。 I'd feel terrible giving a warriors book three stars, but I'm not sure if it's worthy of four。 I really want to give it a 3。5。。。 but I'll settle for three。 I'd still recommend reading it if you're a fan of the series, but I've enjoyed most other super editions more。 。。。more
